Intelligent Control using Type-2 Fuzzy for Diagnosis of Inter-Turn Short Circuit Fault in PMSM

Abstract
The Sliding Mode Control system (SMCS), which is a robust control technique take a place in control electric drive systems as  an effective way with many attractive features such the parameter variations and model uncertainties and insensitive to external load disturbance; in this research study, We applies the sliding mode control (SMC) in  the PMSM based on two controllers: type1 fuzzy logic controller (T1FLC) and type2 fuzzy logic controller (T2FLC) by taking account of the presence of interturn short circuit fault.
This paper aims to select the robust controller against the stator faults, load torque variation and reversing rotation speed. Tests regarding these two controllers associated with the SMC were carried out on a PMSM 5KW exposed to different loads, speed and severity degrees of failures for a functioning in healthy and degraded state. The obtained simulation results confirm the superiority and robustness of T2FLCSMC (for control and diagnosis faults) compared to T1FLCSMC.
