Hyperbolic and Parabolic Models for the Dynamics of Electromagnets

Abstract
The paper presents some calculation techniques regarding the use of mathematical statistics when studying the interdependence of some quantities characterising the electromagnetic phenomena. To this end, two cases are illustrated: the attraction force depending on the air gap and the actuation time of electromagnets depending also on the air gap. The relation actuation time- air gap, having a parabolic structure, is modeled using the following methods: least squares method, the three-points method and the Gregory-Newton method, based on regressive finite differences. For the attraction force - air gap relation, having a parabolic structure, only the first method was used, caused by the pronounced evolution due to the hyperbolic nature of the two quantities. Of course, both case studies are based on statistical samples that have been previously subject to specific test sets, in order to establish the representativeness of the calculation data.
