Carbon Steel Corrosion in the Presence of Aspergillus Niger Fungi’s

Abstract
S235J2G3 carbon steel corrosion in sterile Czapek-Dox broth inoculated with Aspergillus niger was studied by electrochemical techniques (potentiostatic and electro-chemical impedance spectroscopy). From the comparative experimental measurements resulted that in solutions without saccharose steel’s corrosion rate increases about 3 times in the first 14 days after inoculation, while in solutions with saccharose biofilm formation is much faster and the corrosion rate increases approx. 9 times.
